Mission Statement
Connecticut RiverFest was formed in 1994 to celebrate the
vibrant and vital role of this region's rivers. Our overall
mission is to:
- Promote the sustainable use of the Connecticut River
Watershed and to support efforts to restore and maintain its
ecological integrity.
- Celebrate the ecological, economic, and aesthetic value
of rivers and to offer ways in which people can work to
preserve river environments as resources and places of
inspiration.
- Encourage collaboration among groups and individuals,
focusing attention on the Connecticut River and its
watershed, in order to increase environmental awareness
through education and celebration.
- Work in cooperation with Natural Resources Conservation
Districts, community groups, towns, schools, environmental
organizations, businesses, agencies, artists and other
individuals.
